Bread of Life: December 3rd Sunday Advent Reflection

Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9

The Word of God say to us: “Trust in Him at all times, oh people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.” Psalm 62:8. We are called to Trust God at ALL TIMES. This means always, everywhere, in all circumstances, whether you feel it or not, whether you understand it or not, “when I am afraid I put my trust in you” Ps 56:3, “in ALL my ways I acknowledge you” Prov 3: 5- 6, I “trust in the Lord forever” Ps 62:8.

For the Lord is “our refuge” and “an everlasting rock”. Isaiah 26:4. He is our foundation on whom we build our hopes, our life, our family, our business, our work, our future and our country. He is our “strength and our shield” Ps 28:7. He protects us from the snares and the lies of the enemy. In moments of weakness He is our stronghold, He is our “refuge for us” in times of difficulties (Ps 62:8). Thus, I “do not lean on my own understanding” but I trust the Lord for He is the Almighty God.

And we will be blessed, for “blessed is the man who trust in the Lord,” Jer 17:7. Though some trust in their own strength, in their wisdom or “in chariots and or in horses, we trust in the name of the LORD our God.” Psalm 20:7

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, the government will be on his shoulders, and he will be called, Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father,Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

Prayer: Lord; transform me, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to love like You – generously, selflessly and joyfully. Amen.

Note: The “Bread of Life” is designed to help users meditate a different aspect of it a week, throughout the entire month.  It can serve as a foundation for personal or group bible study.  I encourage you to start and conclude with a prayer and to ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand and appropriate spiritual truths for your life.
