CHILD SPONSORSHIP
PROGRAM
By 2030 an estimated 122 million children in Africa will live in extreme poverty. Today more than 32 million children orphans live in Africa. Over 40 percent of children in Brazil live in poverty, with more than 6 million in extreme poverty. Millions are not in school. Many children need sponsorship for their basic nutrition, health and education.
As part of its mission to bring charity and truth to all people, Caritas in Veritate—CiV works to improve the quality of life for children, families and communities in Africa, Asia and the Americas through development, community organization and collaboration with local churches. In most of these countries millions of children face extreme poverty. Education is vital for ending the cycles of poverty, family breakdown, and child labor that threaten these children.
